I've never been the biggest fan of Final Fantasy. The peak of the series happened before I was really a gamer, and later entries haven't interested. I'm excited to go back and play the earlier games with the Pixel Remaster, but for now I think I'm going to dive into FF16.

The demo was awesome. The start is a bit slow, but it quickly ramps up and the second half is frenetic set pieces and boss fights. Combat feels awesome, if a bit button-mashy in the beginning. The voice acting is great, and the story sucked me in immediately. I prefer Medieval settings to the more futuristic ones of recent FF games, so that was a treat as well. I don't often buy games on day 1, but this demo might just have convinced me.
