I like A Practical Guide, more than How to Rule an Empire, but less than Sixteen Ways. It's got Parker's typical droll and ironic main character, with healthy doses of humor and sarcasm throughout. There are some battles, some twists and turns, and it's overall just a fun read.
Pacing is good, the plot moves quickly and jumps between larger-than-life events in the narrative and multi-page digressions that flow nicely. If you've read any Parker before, and as this is the last book in the trilogy (though it can be read standalone easily), you know what to expect here.
