Ys: Memories of Celceta

March 19, 2023 - Reading time: ~1 minute - Category: game library project

Ys: Memories of Celceta is the second game in the series that uses the party system, released before Ys 8. It's a fun game, and well worth playing for Ys fans, but if you started the series with 8, this one may take a little adjusting.

Celceta isn't as refined as Lacrimosa of Dana. The game is much smaller scale, the combat not quite as fluid and flashes, and the production value clearly isn't as high. That said, it's still a blast to play through and a huge step up from Ys Seven, the only Ys game I haven't enjoyed. There's a lot to love here, just keep in mind the Ys 8 is an evolution of this game.

Verdict: Finished
