Yakuza 4 (PS4)

March 18, 2023 - Reading time: ~1 minute - Category: game library project

Yakuza 4 on PS4 is a remastered port of of the original PS3 game. A first for the series, it introduces additional playable characters beyond Kiryu.

While the new protagonists are a breath of fresh air after 4 games of just playing as Kiryu, I wasn't as invested in their stories as I was Kiryu's, and only Akiyama really appealed to me as a character. I admit, I played every Yakuza game from 0-6 pretty much straight in a row, and at this point I was a little burned out on the series. That said, the game is still excellent, filled with the series' hallmarks, and the new locations are fun to explore.

Anyone invested in the previous games will find more of the same here.

Verdict: Finished

Part of the Game Library Project
