The Wolf Among Us

March 12, 2023 - Reading time: ~1 minute - Category: game library project

The Wolf Among Us, released in 2013, is maybe the best game from Telltale's series of adventure/interactive story games. Set in the Fables universe, a gritty modern take on popular fairy tales, we play as Bigby Wolf, a sheriff. The game has a good story, dealing with mature themes of murder, drug abuse, etc. Graphics are stylized, done in that signature Telltale style. Voice acting is well done.

I liked this game, much like I enjoyed the first two Telltale Walking Dead games and the TT Game of Thrones game. This one is probably the best of them, maybe tied with TWD Season 1. That said, I do have an issue with how these games are marketed. Telltale makes it seem like you have a real impact on the story base don the choices you make. That isn't strictly true. Small things change, sure, but the ending of the game is set in stone.

Verdict: Finished
