I played quite a bit of the Witcher 3 on release, getting about 20 hours in. I was in college at the time, and ended up dropping it for one reason or another. It's a great game, with excellent writing and graphics, but I never really gelled with the combat, and now playing the game a decade later on PS5 that seems to still be the case.
I've played about 2 hours so far in this new playthrough, and I really like the setting, story, and how every quest seems important. I'm still trying to figure out the combat. I don't feel like I have a ton of control over my attacks, they're really flashy and animation-locked, and look really cool, but I whiff on a lot of them for some reason. I don't think I'm using the lock-on mechanic effectively.
I think this one is going to stay in the backlog for a while while I try and play some more games and especially more shorter games. I will finish it eventually, someday.
Verdict: Play Later
