The Outer Worlds

March 15, 2023 - Reading time: ~1 minute - Category: game library project

The Outer Worlds is Obsidian's newest take on Fallout. It's fun, but the lower budget hold it back.

The Outer Worlds is set in space, and instead of a large open world you explore a group of self-contained planets. Quests take you between planets, collecting companions and loot as you go. I enjoyed this game for the roughly 13 hours it took me to blast through the main story. It feels like slightly-budget Fallout. That can be a good or bad thing. I was slightly let down by how small and shallow some of the worlds felt, and the loot left something to be desired.

If you enjoy any of the modern Fallout games, you'll like enjoy this one. Just don't expect a masterpiece.

Verdict: Finished

Part of the Game Library Project
