Much like Mario Kart, Smash Bros is one of my most-played and favorite series, especially Melee and Brawl. I spent countless hours with my cousin beating up on level 9 CPUs, collecting trophies, playing the Subspace Emissary, knocking out target practice, home run derby, and Adventure mode. While I didn't play Smash 4 as I didn't have a Wii U, I was excited to jump back in with Ultimate. I really like this game, and Smash will always be a timeless classic, that said, there's definitely a feeling missing playing it as an adult. It's still fun with friends, but I think what I really loved about playing Melee and Brawl was those endless summer days where I had nothing else going on, and it seemed like every match was full of awesome moments.
The game is a great time, and the character and stage rosters are awesome. I think there are a few too many Fire Emblem characters, and I'm not really a fan of some of the DLC characters, but it's safe to call Ultimate the definitive Smash game, at least for casual players.
Verdict: Endless
