I am not really a fan of fighting games. The inputs are too complicated, and I get frustrated easily when I get destroyed online. That said, I did like Dragon Ball FighterZ, mostly because I like the franchise. I don't have much experience with SF, but after reading reviews and seeing how much single player content there is, I decided to pick this one up.
I'm having a lot of fun with the game so far. The World Tour single player mode is really meaty, and perfect for someone who doesn't really play fighting games. There's also the standard Arcade mode and some other single player options. The Battle Hub online arena is a staple of fighting games, but completely optional if you just want to matchmake through a menu. I've played a few matches online and got destroyed, but I haven't really practiced with any characters yet. Crossplay will keep this game alive for a long time.
I may not get deep into this game or play much online, but there's enough here to keep me satisfied playing single player, and eventually I may try my hand online with the more simple modern control scheme.
Verdict: Timewaster/Endless
