Strangeland

September 3, 2024 - Reading time: ~1 minute - Category: game library project

I'm an unashamed Wadjet Eye shill, and while they didn't develop this game, they did publish it, and I liked Wormwood Studios' previous effort, Primordia.

Strangeland, so far, is a bit of a mixed bag. The art is incredible, the voice acting is fantastic as usual, and the puzzle hit the sweet spot of modern adventure games where they're challenging without being frustrating.

On the negative side, the story is kind of forgettable. It's not hitting as hard as Primordia or the Blackwell games, and that's a bit of a big deal for this genre. I'm going to keep playing, since these games are so short and the art really is very good, but this isn't one of the stronger modern point and clicks I've played.

Verdict: Keep Playing
