Like I said in my post on Spyro 2, the original Spyro the Dragon has always been my favorite of the series. 20 years later that hasn't changed. I love the simplicity of the levels, the goofy voice acting, and the pure distilled platforming without the extra frills future games added in.
I know the consensus is the the later games are objectively better games, with more features, mechanics, and more to do, but the first game will always be the most special to me. Short and sweet, which is more important than ever to me these days.
This remake does have a few issues, which I went over in my Spyro 2 post, so I won't go over them here. Mostly just nitpicks over the new graphic style. The remastered trilogy is an excellent way to play the trilogy.
I finished Spyro 1 back in 2019 so won't be replaying it for this project. It can be completed in just a few hours, and is well worth the time.
Verdict: Finished
