I've had Roadwarden on my wishlist for years before release, and for a year or so afterwards. I finally picked it up on a decent sale, and I'm sad to say I'm really not enjoying it.
The game plays out like a text-based RPG. There's a ton of text, and plenty of dialogue options to choose from. It's put together really nice, with pleasing visuals and nice background music. That said, the story is what's important here, and sadly it's really not gripping me at all. I've played about 45 minutes so far, and maybe I haven't given it enough of a shot, but I feel like I've been thrown into the deep end. There's a ton of world building, but none of it means anything to me. I have no real idea of the plot.
I'm not crossing Roadwarden off the list entirely, but I'm definitely moving it down the list and will think about coming back to it when I'm more in the mood for a text game.
Verdict: Maybe Revisit
