Primordia

July 2, 2023 - Reading time: 2 minutes - Category: game library project

I'm a big fan of everything Wadjet Eye touches, especially their Blackwell games, and while they didn't develop Primordia they did publish it, and you can see their hands all over this game. The interface is similar, the graphical style is the same, and if I'm not mistaken I believe some voice actors are shared as well.

I haven't played Primordia enough to get a real idea of its plot, but what I've done so far is interesting. I admittedly don't often get gripped by sci-fi plots very often, especially in games, but for a nice quick point and click it's fine. I'll take a fantasy or a present-day detective story for my point and clicks any day though.

One gripe I have so far is that the graphics seem a bit muddy. Objects, at least in the areas I've visited, don't jump out from the background, so there's already been a bit of pixel hunting, which is a little annoying. Hopefully the color palette opens up a bit.

I'm not sure if I'll enjoy Primordia as much as the other Wadjet Eye games, but I'm definitely going to finish it. These games only take a few hours to finish, so even if I'm not entirely thrilled with it it's not a huge time investment.

Verdict: Keep Playing
