Nephise Begins is a walking simulator, and not a great one. Like all walking simulators, there's not much gameplay here. However, Nephise Begins al doesn't have much of a story to carry it along and that makes it not worth playing.
The entire game can be finished in 20 minutes, 15 if you rush. All you need to do is collect 4 skulls and rotate them in a specific way, and the games over. There's a few voiceover lines that provide next to no context. Being an Unreal Engine game, graphics are nice enough, but seem to tax my PC an inordinate amount for how little is going on here. The music, similarly, is really nice, but I expect it's royalty free or purchased assets.
Overall this game feels more like a school project than something that should be for sale. It would fit in more as a free project on Itch.io, and in my opinion is not worth paying for. However, the solo developer is only asking for $1, so not a crazy asking price.
Verdict: Finished
