Sony usually gives out that year's MLB The Show around the end of the baseball season, and this year was no different. I played a lot of 23, and like with Madden it can be hard to notice the difference in these games year-to-year. As such, MLB 24 isn't super impressive to me.The gameplay is still great, if in need of a bit of an engine upgrade, and the graphics are still passable, though they're showing their age a bit.The standard bevy of modes are here, and Diamond Dynasty remains probably the most accessible card collecting game in sports for people who don't want to spend any money. There are hundreds of moments challenges and other ways to play, and at this point in the season the game is very generous with cards.

Since I played so much of 23, I probably won't play a ton of 24, but it's a nice pickup for "free" and a really solid baseball game.
