Kingdoms of Amalur is a game I played a bit back when it originally released on PC. It's a fantasy RPG where you create your own character and spec into the classic Warrior, Rogue, Mage archetypes. You find loot from killing enemies and in cheats. This is the remaster of the game, given out free on PS Plus. It's kind of like an offline MMO - the world is broken into distinctive 'zones' where you pick up quests in the hub and go out into the zone and into dungeons to complete them. Combat feels good, but is a little simple. The graphics are fine, but this game's definitely 10 years old and the remaster doesn't improve on the original very noticeably. There's a ton of bloom that really doesn't look too good.
Amalur is basically the definition of a 7.5/10 game. It's well-made, with serviceable combat, a standard fantasy world, and everything you'd expect from an RPG made in the last 10-15 years. It doesn't rock the boat or do anything particular exceptional, but it's fun. This is one I may return to later when I need something to play.
Verdict: Maybe Revisit
