Kingdom Hearts 3 is divisive among fans of the series. Released more than a decade after KH2 with numerous spinoffs in between, it disappointed a lot of the fans. The story, at this point, is mostly nonsense. I freely admit that I haven't played all the spinoff games and thus don't understand most of what's going on.

That said, I really didn't care about the overarching plot while I was playing. The gameplay is the best in the series. It's fluid, hectic, and feels better than any other game in the series. The graphics are beautiful. The Disney worlds lean too heavily into the modern movies for my taste, and the Final Fantasy elements are mostly removed, so I didn't connect with this game as much as previous ones.

That said, playing was a great time, and fans of the series should definitely pick this one up.
