Judgment is a spin-off of the popular Yakuza series of games (all of which I've finished, except for Like a Dragon), and keeps many of the same gameplay and story elements. Kamurocho remains as vivid, detailed, and full of life as ever, with Judgment having maybe its best version yet.
The story keeps its trademark "serious main plot, silly side stories" form the main series, except this time around we play as a private investigator instead of a yakuza. This has introduced some new gameplay mechanics where you investigate crime scenes and tail suspects. The tail sequences are admittedly a little annoying, they mainly boil down to just waiting in cover until they reach their destination. The story, however, is a touch above the rest of the games in my opinion. Yakuza, especially the later games, tends to lose itself a bit in all the characters, plot fakeouts, double fakeouts. Judgment tells a tighter story and keeps the side content just as engaging.
As a fan of the series I'm definitely going to play this game and I'm excited to continue in the sequel, Lost Judgment.
Verdict: Keep Playing
