Immortals of Aveum

February 16, 2025 - Reading time: ~1 minute - Category: game library project

Immortals of Aveum is one of those games I'd probably never think to buy, but I'm more than willing to try when given out for free. I've been eying this one ever since it was given as a PS Plus game, and finally decided to give it a look.

I'm glad I did. The story, I can tell, is pretty take it or leave it. Some of the dialogue is cringe. But the combat is fun and fast paced, it controls well, and it looks pretty good too. The idea of a spellcasting FPS may not be unique but it's definitely not something you see every day and so far I'm having fun with it.Reviews I've read indicate that the systems get pretty deep.

I think this one got some poor reviews on release due to the price tag and some poor performance. The price was $0 for me, and playing on PS5 I've only noticed one or two little stutters, which is common with UE5 games.

This feels like a game I'll beat and forget entirely in 6 months, and that's ok. For now, I'm having fun with it and will keep playing.

Verdict: Keep Playing
