Guild Wars 2 is an MMO I have a bit of history with. I played it not long after the first 2 expansions came out, but I never got very far into it and dropped it quickly. Recently I decided to give it another go, and I'm having a lot of fun as a Ranger.MMOs, I've come to realize, are a genre I like the idea of more than I actually like playing. I've played a lot of ESO and LOTRO, and the idea of so much content really appeals to me. I always get invested for a couple weeks, then drop off for months at a time. Right now I'm in a honeymoon phase - the graphics and skills are fun, I like the quick progression. But the story hasn't drawn me in at all. I'm afraid I'm going to end up dropping money on more content while it's on sale, and then never playing it.
For now, I'm going to keep giving it a go over the next few days. If I'm still itching to play, I'll probably pick up the stuff on sale. It can be hard for me to justify spending a ton of time in MMOs when I have so many games to play (hence this project), but a point in GW2's favor is that the main story content is always relevant, being a linear story much like LOTRO's epic quest. I can always come back to it later.
Verdict: Endless
