God of War (2018)

March 16, 2023 - Reading time: ~1 minute - Category: game library project

God of War 2018 is a reboot of the popular Sony hack and slash franchise. It drastically changes up the gameplay, from a hectic action game to a more cinematic over-the-shoulder, slower affair.

This is objectively a good game. Production values are off the charts, voice acting is great, and it plays well. It's just not what I want from God of War. This feels, sadly, like every other Sony-produced game. They're fun, and good games, but it feels like Sony studios have found this mold and fit all their games into it.

This game also moves the series into Norse mythology. I don't personally like it as much as Greek, but all the usual suspects are represented here.

Verdict: Finished

Part of the Game Library Project
