Expeditions: Rome is a game I've had on my wishlist for a while. I love history, and this game seems to do it right. I like Rome, and this game reviewed well and seems to be a hit. I picked it up cheap and gave it a try, and while I like the game, it's not one I'm going to keep playing right now.I'm just so bad at tactics games. I hate the slow movement, picking skills, moving each individual character, waiting for every single enemy character to move. It's all so damn slow. Battles just take forever. This type of combat is just not for me - give me full action gameplay or menu-based ATB or turn-based. No matter how much I want to I just can't get into Fire Emblem, Advance Wars, etc. Just not for me.
And it's a shame, because this one ticks al my other boxes. If there was a way to skip the combat (which I know is crazy, it's the whole point of the game) I'd really like it. I just don't have the patience for the slow gameplay. I'm going to return to this one in the future, and maybe I'll have more patience for it, but right now it's not for me.
Verdict: Revisit
