Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age

March 15, 2023 - Reading time: ~1 minute - Category: game library project

Dragon Quest XI is an excellent JRPG. It follows the established Dragon Quest formula, sure, but it does it so well.

Characters and enemies are full of charm, environments look excellent, and each area has its own distinct theme. It's a long, mostly linear game, and you progress form town to town levelling up and try to save the world. Dragon Quest knows what it is, and wears its history on its sleeve. The cast is awesome, the battles are smooth, classic JRPG. I got a good 50 hours out of this game, and definitely want to go back and play the rest of the series. The only downside here is the music. The battle theme gets really, really repetitive.

Verdict: Finished

Part of the Game Library Project
