Diablo II: Resurrected

April 14, 2025 - Reading time: ~1 minute - Category: game library project

As a fan of Diablo 3 and 4, I've never really given 2 much of a try. It always seemed a little too old, a little too clunky. I finally decided to give it a try with the remaster on a sale, and while I see how it was a foundational game for the genre, it just doesn't hit for me like some of the newer games in the genre.

The art is really cool and pretty timeless, and I like the variety available in the classes. But the skills, movement, loot, and inventory systems are primitive (expected, since this is the game that really set the genre in stone) and a little hard to get into after playing newer games. While I was playing, I kept thinking, why shouldn't I play Diablo 3 or 4 or Grim Dawn?

Usually I can power through older stuff, and I know that D2 is still loved by so many. It just wasn't for me this time.

Verdict: Uninstall
