DayZ

February 16, 2025 - Reading time: ~1 minute - Category: game library project

I missed out on the DayZ hype, both when it was an ARMA mod and when it finally released as a standalone game. These types of open world crafting survivor games just aren't for me. But recently, a buddy's been playing i ton PS4, and he finally convinced me to give it a try.

I really still just do not like this whole genre of games. I need a goal or objective to work towards, and "surviving" just isn't enough for me. The controls are clunky, the interface has been brought over from PC wholesale and is awful on controller, and gameplay is obtuse and unrewarding.

It may be more fun if you play with a bigger group or roleplay, but the standard experience is not fun for me.

Verdict: Uninstall
