Crusader Kings 3

July 21, 2023 - Reading time: ~1 minute - Category: game library project

Crusader Kings 3 is the sequel to CK2, and evolves the game in several ways while taking a step back in terms of pure content.

The graphics are a major area of improvement. Characters are fully modelled instead of being 2D portraits, and they look great. The fully-realized throne rooms area nice touch too.

Where CK3 doesn't quite stack up to its predecessor is in the amount of content on display. It wasn't realistic to expect CK3 to have all the content of 2 on release after nearly a decade of DLC, but the game released without much content and heavily restricted the timeline. A few DLCs have been released, but they're a little pricey and don't quite match up to CK2 yet.

CK3 is a great game that streamlines and improves many of CK2's mechanics, but it doesn't match up to the previous game just yet for me.

Verdict: Endless
