Cat Quest

Cat Quest is a simple hack-and-slash 2D action rpg. It's fun, simple, full of cat and dog puns. I had a good time playing it, but it's definitely "baby's first RPG". This game isn't doing anything new or novel.

What it does succeed in, though, is being fun. Combat is mechanically simple and satisfying, the spells you unlock are varied and useful. The overworld map is nice to look at, and while dungeons can be a bit samey they never overstay their welcome. Cat Quest is a compact RPG that's worth a play over a few afternoons if you can stand a bit of "reddit humor".
