Borderlands 3 was a free PS Plus game recent, and since my brother and I are always looking for a new "campaign" game for our rotation, we decided to give it a try.

If you've played any Borderlands game before, you know what to expect. The shooting feels great, there are tons of guns, the classes and abilities are varied and interesting. The art style, while not as novel as it was back when the first game came out, is pleasant and you know at a glance that you're playing a Borderlands game.

Where the game falls a bit flat for us was in the story and humor. Borderlands has always relied on "wacky" internet humor, and there's a very thin line between being silly and charming and being cringe. Borderlands 3, even early on, veers into the cringe lane. My recommendation: ignore the story and just enjoy the shooting.
