Bing in Wonderland

December 11, 2023 - Reading time: ~1 minute - Category: game library project

Bing in Wonderland is a fast-paced action roguelike with short sidescrolling stages.Think Slay the Spire, but instead of getting a card after beating a stage, you get a power-up or item. Like Slay the Spire, you have a choice in which 'route' you take to get to the boss.

I've played through the first 13 stages and beaten the first boss, which is like the first section of the game. After beating the boss, your run resets and you have the option to spend some naan points on permanent upgrades like more starting health or damage. Then you can jump in and do the same run again, or take on the next section, which has slightly harder enemies.

Runs are quick and fun. Those 13 stages and boss took me about 20 minutes. The upgrades are meaningful and there's clear different playstyles available. I like what I've seen so far, so I'm going to keep it installed and keep playing, but I'm not sure if this is a game you can really 'beat'.

Verdict: Keep Playing
