Bastion is one of the OG indie games, released way back in 2011 when the indie scene was really taking off. It's the first game from Supergiant, who went on to make Transistor and Hades, and those games share a lot of Bastion's DNA.Gameplay is pretty standard action RPG hack-and-slash. There's a good amount of weapons, sorted into melee and ranged, and all of them feel pretty good to use. Environments are gorgeous, and levels don't overstay their welcome.
One of the big draws of Bastion is the narrator, who reacts dynamically to your actions in game. It was a bit more novel back when the game came out, but it's still a cool feature.
Bastion is a game that definitely had more impact when it came out, but it still holds up pretty well today. HLTB shows it's only about6 hours long, and I'm a few hours in already, so I'm thinking I'm going to be able to finish it before Starfield comes out. Well worth a play, especially when you can get it pretty cheap.
Verdict: Keep Playing
