A.R.E.S. Extinction Agenda is a Megaman-like from 2011, and it's not shy about that inspiration. You walk to the left, shoot enemies, do some light platforming, and then at the end of each of the 5 stages you fight a boss and collect an upgrade. Enemies drop a variety of collectibles that can be used to upgrade weapons and refill your stocks of grenades and other side items. I played through partway or stage 2 of 5 in about 20 minutes, so the game seems quite short.
I'm not a fan of the game's graphics, being a firmly 7th gen game it uses that era's typical washed out grays and browns, and the aesthetic has not aged greatly more than a decade later. In 2014 the game got an upgraded EX Edition with improved visuals, sound, and more weapons, but I don't own that version.
The game is solid, but doesn't do anything particularly well. Aiming is a little clunky, one of the 3 main resources is in oddly short supply, no real details are given about the world the game is set in through the gameplay. It's a decent run and gun game, but that's the best thing I can say for it. I ended up uninstalling.
Verdict: Uninstall
