Bioshock Infinite

Bioshock Infinite is a bit of a departure from the previous 2 games both in setting and gameplay, leaving Rapture for Columbia and being more action-oriented. Having not played the other 2 games, I didn't have any bias going in. This is a pretty good FPS game with an interesting story.

Destiny 2

With excellent shooting mechanics and deep lore, Destiny 2 is really the only option for a story focused, massively multiplayer shooting game. I enjoyed my time with it, but when I played it, the new player experience was awful, and Bungie's habit of vaulting paid content is disappointing.
